Passengers at Oakland International Airport Can Now Catch a Lyft

Lyft is Airport’s First Ridesharing Service

Oakland, CA (July 30, 2015) – The Port of Oakland, operator of Oakland International Airport (OAK) announced an agreement with Lyft that allows the Transportation Network Company (TNC) to become the first to operate at the Airport. The permit authorizes the San Francisco-based company to pick up and drop off customers at OAK, under an eight-month pilot program. Lyft’s OAK service will begin today.

“Lyft offers yet another ground transportation choice for passengers flying to or from the San Francisco Bay Area through OAK”,” said Acting Director of Aviation, Kristi McKenney. “New ground transportation options are particularly welcome as passenger traffic continues to increase here at the airport.”

“We’re excited to announce that starting today, you’ll be able to request a Lyft when your travels take your through Oakland International Airport,” said Bakari Brock, Lyft’s Director of Business Development and Airports. “We’d like to thank Airport Staff and the Port of Oakland for preserving Lyft’s affordable, convenient rides for OAK travelers.”
