Fly New Flights from OAK and Park Free

More Nonstop Destinations Than Ever Before

Oakland, CA – May 20, 2015: Oakland International Airport (OAK) is growing with new nonstop service to eight new destinations announced thus far in 2015. As an invitation to the new flights, the airport is offering up to three days of free on-airport parking – a $66 value – to those traveling to any of 10 featured cities.

“Oakland International Airport is now one of the fastest-growing airports in the country. The popular Park Free promotion is our unique way of introducing the new flights along with the convenience of on-airport parking to our Bay Area customers,” said Deborah Ale-Flint, Director of Aviation for Port of Oakland.

When Southwest Airlines begins service between OAK and Columbus, Ohio on August 9, it will be its fifth new destination offered from OAK this year. It will also be the airport’s 48th city with nonstop service – the highest number in its 88-year history. Recently, Spirit Airlines launched service to Houston’s Intercontinental Airport. Volaris added Tijuana, Mexico and Allegiant now flies nonstop to Omaha. Jet Blue Airways has also added flight frequencies to New York-JFK and Boston for summer.

Oakland International Airport’s Park Free Summer promotion runs from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day – May 22 through September 7, 2015. Travelers departing OAK on nonstop flights to Boston, Nashville, Baltimore-Washington, Columbus, Dallas Love Field, Houston Intercontinental, New York JFK, New Orleans, Omaha or Tijuana can get up to three days’ free parking in the airport’s Daily Lot. These destinations can also be used as a connecting point in an itinerary, creating dozens more eligible destinations.

In order to receive Free Parking, travelers must complete an easy registration at OaklandAirport.com/ParkFree. The registration initiates the issuance of a unique Park Free coupon. This printed coupon must be presented together with a printed copy of a qualifying OAK round-trip e-ticket itinerary, boarding pass, or other proof of purchase, and an ID to a cashier upon exiting the airport lot.
