OAK Passenger Traffic Up 6.1 Percent in February

15th Consecutive Month of Growth

Oakland, CA – March 30, 2015 – Oakland International Airport (OAK) recorded total enplanements of 730,874 in the month of February 2015, an increase of 6.1 percent from the same month last year.

Airline seat capacity, at 974,042 seats, was up 4.7 percent and average load factor for all operations at OAK was 75.0 percent, up from 74.0 last year.

Cargo volume in February was 88.0 million pounds, up 9.6 percent year over year.
San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) metro rail ridership to the OAK Station in February, its third month in operation, was 31,202, up 37.1 percent from predecessor Air BART bus connector service last year.

“We have worked hard over the last few years to rebuild business since the recession, and it’s good to see traffic climbing again at Oakland International Airport,” said Deborah Ale Flint, Director of Aviation for Port of Oakland. “With three of eight new domestic and international routes scheduled to launch this year already in service, the increased business we are seeing so far has OAK firmly on a growth track for 2015.”
