Advanced Air launches at Oakland International Airport

Regional airline brings ease, comfort, and convenience with daily nonstop Crescent City flights for as low as $99 each way

Oakland, Calif. – March 14, 2024: On Sunday, March 17th, Advanced Air will launch its inaugural service at San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport (OAK) with daily nonstop flights to Crescent City (CEC). Flights will be served by Advanced Air’s fleet of Dornier 328 Jets, seating 30 passengers. The service will increase accessibility and convenience for passengers traveling between the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California/Southern Oregon border. This route, previously served by Contour Airlines, is subsidized under the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Essential Air Service (EAS) program that supports a minimum level of air service in Del Norte County.

“We wish Advanced Air a warm welcome to OAK,” says Craig Simon, Interim Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland. “We encourage Bay Area travelers to utilize this convenient service to Crescent City, which is currently the only scheduled commercial service to CEC available in the region.”

“We are extremely excited about the new community partnerships and relationships we have already begun to forge and look forward to further developing these partnerships,” says Levi Stockton, President and CEO of Advanced Air. “We are proud to offer this connectivity as part of our record of reliable service in California and the southwest.”

“It’s been a pleasure working with the Port of Oakland as we prepare to launch this new service. We’re proud to connect travelers to Crescent City, the majestic Redwoods and stunning Pacific beaches. Get ready for an unforgettable journey filled with natural wonders and endless possibilities,” says Barbara Hunt, VP of Business Operations at Advanced Air.

Under the Essential Air Service program, the Del Norte County Airport Authority selects the air carrier to serve this route. This flight from Crescent City brings Del Norte County residents to the San Francisco Bay Area for essential services like medical treatments, financial services and educational pursuits as well as to facilitate connections to onward flights from OAK. Bay Area residents will enjoy using the flight when visiting the region, which is home to the majestic redwoods and spectacular shoreline of Del Norte National Forest.
