Oakland International Airport projects over 1 million passengers for spring break

Spring break at OAK will be March 15 through April 15

Oakland, Calif. – March 11, 2024: San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport is projecting over 1 million passengers to pass through the airport between March 15 and April 15, an uptick fueled by spring break travel demand. The projection represents a 3 percent increase compared to the same time last year. While holiday schedules vary, most San Francisco East Bay educational institutions are observing spring break between mid-March and mid-April. The airport recommends arriving early and booking parking ahead during this busy travel period.

“San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport welcomes spring break 2024 travelers,” says Craig Simon, Interim Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland. “We encourage passengers to pay a visit to new concessions that are available in our terminals, and to plan ahead during this busy travel period.”

Travelers can save time by checking in for their flight before coming to the airport using the airline’s website or mobile application. In case of airline delays or cancellations, be sure to check flight status before coming to the airport. For current TSA wait time information and packing tips, download the MyTSA mobile app. The airport recommends arriving at least two hours prior to departure for domestic travel and three hours prior for international travel.

Airport concessions and hours of operations can be found here, and OAK’s interactive terminal map can be found here.

LIMITED TIME PARKING DISCOUNT

Discounted parking in the Economy and Daily Lots is currently available to passengers who reserve their trips before 3/31/24. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially in the lead up to spring break and in preparation for summer vacations, as the parking lots close to non-reserved customers when they become full.
