OAK Passenger Traffic Up 8.6 Percent in March

16th Consecutive Month of Growth

 Oakland, CA – April 15, 2015 – Oakland International Airport (OAK) recorded total passenger enplanements of 885,378 in the month of March 2015, an increase of 8.6 percent from the same month last year.

Airline seat capacity, at 1,131,288 seats, was up 6.7 percent and average load factor for commercial operations at OAK was 78.3 percent, up from 76.9 last year.

Cargo volume at OAK in March was 96.2 million pounds, up 3.2 percent year over year.

San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) rail ridership to the OAK Station in March was 81,609, up 38.4 percent from predecessor Air BART bus connector service last year.

“We’ve had a strong first quarter in calendar year 2015 for passenger traffic at Oakland International Airport,” said Deborah Ale Flint, Director of Aviation for Port of Oakland. “And with five more new routes launching in the next few months, we’re expecting a very busy summer at OAK.”
